Then we’ve made the plans with care

We’ve made the effort with love

And we have made the space with intention

Then we waited and waited and waited...

Until suddenly

One day

- They arrived -

And now that they are here

Needing so much from us

Needing almost more than we can give

We must choose to grow along side them

We must show them how to tell a story worth living

We must show them how to enjoy

How to cope with a story gone awry

How to untangle jumbled lines of code

How to see beyond the mess when we are drowning in it

And how to find the beauty in a spark as we go up in flames

Now that they are here

They will do what we do
